Lower Richland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jhnai Sumter led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 15 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. Sumter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chi?nya Isaac, who scored 20 points along with five assists and two steals.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3. As for Lower Richland, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson will head out on the road to face off against Gilbert at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Gilbert is on a five-game streak of home wins, Orangeburg-Wilkinson a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Lower Richland will take on Dreher at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dreher is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
