The Calvary Day Cavaliers extended their postseason success on Friday against the Thomasville Bulldogs. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bulldogs 49-0 at home. Calvary Day's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Jake Merklinger continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 238 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Merklinger is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Coleman, who gained 50 total yards and two touchdowns.
Calvary Day pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.58 points. As for Thomasville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Calvary Day will face off against Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wesleyan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Calvary Day likes a good challenge. Thomasville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
