The Twin Falls Bruins will take on the Elko Indians at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Twin Falls will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Twin Falls is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Ridgevue 24-5 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Twin Falls got a massive performance out of Braylin Iverson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. What's more, Iverson posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Kaitlyn Hudson also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Twin Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Elko posted their closest victory since February 28th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Boise 10-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Taylor Hunton made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Hunton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angelina Jackson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Elizabeth Romero was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Twin Falls' record now sits at 3-5. As for Elko, their record is now 8-5.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Twin Falls hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Elko struggles in that department as they've averaged .392. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
