The Somerville Highlanders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northeast Metro RVT Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Somerville has now lost seven straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since January 11.
Last Tuesday, Somerville was beaten by Everett 74-35. While losing is never fun, Somerville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Everett is ranked 78th).
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Northeast Metro RVT's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Innovation Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Somerville dropped their record down to 5-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Northeast Metro RVT, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9.
