Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy Takes a Loss

Glynn Academy lost against Bradwell Institute back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Glynn Academy Terrors fell 41-33 to the Bradwell Institute Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Terrors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Tigers are ranked 36th).

When it comes to explaining why Glynn Academy lost, don't look at Alyssa Martin. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. Martin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Jernigan, who posted six points.

Leading Bradwell Institute to victory were Ja'Nya Bush and Parris Parham. Bush had 12 points and seven boards, while Parham almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Jordyn Rogers was another key player, putting up eight points and seven boards.

Glynn Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Bradwell Institute, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Glynn Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-47 defeat against Evans on the 14th. As for Bradwell Institute, they have also already played their next contest, a 65-41 victory against Brunswick on the 14th.
