Old Fort and the Golden Bears are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Old Fort Stockaders will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Gibsonburg Golden Bears at 6:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Old Fort has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while the Golden Bears will arrive with four straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 53-16, which was the final score in Old Fort's tilt against the Polar Bears on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Old Fort has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Gibsonburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 46-41 win over Norwalk.
Gibsonburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazmyne Morant out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Morant is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Elly Evarts, who scored 11 points along with six steals and two blocks.
Old Fort now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Gibsonburg, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
