A Season-Best Performance from Ernie Powers Leads Franklin over Eastwood
Ernie Powers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Franklin to the win on Friday. Powers rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 138 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Franklin pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Powers and Franklin will be playing at home against Socorro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Quarles Made His Presence Known in Pebble Hills' 38-7 Win
Zereian Quarles continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 127 rushing yards. He rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards.
On the season, Quarles has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 154.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had six rushing touchdowns.

Luke Lomeli Dazzles in Eastlake Win
Eastlake picked up their third consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Luke Lomeli. Nobody could stop Lomeli as he threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Lomeli must have Socorro's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Lomeli threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Dorian Jaramillo Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Dorian Jaramillo continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 17th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up 1.5 sacks, made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass.
Montwood had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Jaramillo it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jaramillo saw the Rams), he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Chris Garcia Makes It Two for Eastlake
The second Eastlake player making an appearance here is Chris Garcia, and for good reason. He picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. He torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 71 yards.
