Softball Recap: Nashville Snaps 13-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Nashville had lost 13 games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-17 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 20-12 margin over the Breese Central Cougars. The Hornets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

As for Breese Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18. Even if they couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

For Breese Central's part, Kate Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Abie Huber, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nashville will take on Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Breese Central, they will venture away from home to take on East Alton-Wood River at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Oilers at the right time seeing as the Oilers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
