The Stevens Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Gilford Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Stevens is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Monday, everything went Stevens' way against Newport as Stevens made off with a 46-26 victory. Given Stevens' advantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Newport is ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Gilford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 49-16 win over Inter-Lakes on the road. Gilford might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 33 points or more this season.
Stevens' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Gilford, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Everything went Stevens' way against Gilford in their previous meeting back in January of 2022 as Stevens made off with a 64-38 win. Does Stevens have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gilford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
