Basketball Game Preview: Hampton Roads Academy Navigators vs. Summit Christian Academy Eagles

Hampton Roads Academy is 5-0 against Summit Christian Academy since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hampton Roads Academy Navigators just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Summit Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Hampton Roads Academy will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Hampton Roads Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Steward. They managed a 59-54 win over the Spartans.

Hampton Roads Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zuriel Pendleton-Morant out in front who went 9 of 15 en route to 25 points and eight rebounds. Those 25 points gave Pendleton-Morant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nalani Carter, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 boards.

Hampton Roads Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 18 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Summit Christian Academy came up short against Denbigh Baptist Christian last Thursday and fell 30-23.

Hampton Roads Academy pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Summit Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Hampton Roads Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Summit Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 36-31 victory.
