After a string of six wins, the Timberline Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Rocky Mountain by a score of 44-41. Timberline found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 12 to 5 on offense.
Emmi Swillie and Grace Mertes certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Swillie dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Mertes scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Mertes continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ashlyn Graklanoff was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Logan Sailors was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with three steals for Rocky Mountain. Another player making a difference was Anna Dabell, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Timberline's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Rocky Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timberline will face off against Owyhee at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rocky Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Borah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
