The Seton Catholic Sentinels were the 58-46 winner over the Saguaro Sabercats when they last played one another on January 9th, but their luck changed this time around. Seton Catholic took a hard 59-43 fall against Saguaro on Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Seton Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julian Garcia. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Garcia hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brock Steele, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Saguaro was led to victory by Justice Hinds and Joe Miller. Hinds scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Miller scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Mikey Shepston was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Seton Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Saguaro, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seton Catholic will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Marcos de Niza at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Saguaro won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Hopefully Arcadia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
