Tri-State Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Galesburg Christian Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tri-State Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 18 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Tri-State Christian struggled with assists on Friday (Quad Cities Christian had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Tri-State Christian was outmatched by Quad Cities Christian at home and fell 63-18. While losing is never fun, Tri-State Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 698th in Iowa, while Quad Cities Christian is ranked 337th in Illinois).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Kennedy Duenser, who scored seven points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Zelle, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Galesburg Christian came up short against Morning Star Academy on Tuesday and fell 41-31. Galesburg Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Tri-State Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Galesburg Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
