The Neah Bay Red Devils's and the Crosspoint Warriors's contest on Saturday was close at halftime, but the Neah Bay Red Devils turned on the heat in the second half with 36 points. Neah Bay blew past Crosspoint 64-44. The result was nothing new for Neah Bay, who have now won three matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Neah Bay had a senior duo take command as Ryana Moss scored 21 points along with five rebounds and Amber Swan scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Swan's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cerise Moss, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Crosspoint's loss came despite strong showings from Anna Kuske and Momoyo Iwata. Kuske scored 25 points, while Iwata scored nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Neah Bay's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.17 points. As for Crosspoint, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neah Bay will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on LaConner at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. As for Crosspoint, they will be playing at home against Northwest Yeshiva at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Yeshiva will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Crosspoint is ranked 37th).
