Marmion Academy scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Marian Central Catholic, 28-10. At the time, the Hurricanes were ranked 15th in the state, while the Cadets were 66th.

Leading Suburban Christian - Blue in both passing and receiving yards, Montini's Alex Wills and Leon Thornton have proven to be a lethal combination. Wills has thrown for 793 yards this season, while Thornton, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 15 catches for 378 yards. Davontae Elam from St. Edward leads the league in rushing with 390 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Montini takes on second place Marmion Academy. Last week, the Broncos beat St. Francis, while Dan Thorpe's team topped Ed Brucker's team.
Fans got a thrill when Wills and Thornton connected against the Spartans. The connection was good for 83 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
