The North Forrest Eagles are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the South Jones Braves at 4:00 p.m. on December 19th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Saturday, North Forrest was the victim of a tough 43-23 loss at the hands of Greene County. North Forrest has not had much luck with Greene County recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, South Jones' recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 53-34 to West Jones. While losing is never fun, South Jones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 179th, while West Jones is ranked 32nd).
North Forrest's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for South Jones, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
North Forrest took their win against South Jones in their previous matchup back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 65-43. With North Forrest ahead 33-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
