Pasadena Memorial has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Summer Creek Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pasadena Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while Summer Creek is ranked fourth).
Pasadena Memorial pushed their score all the way to 40 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Channelview 45-40. Pasadena Memorial has not had much luck with Channelview recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though Summer Creek has not done well against Atascocita recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Summer Creek took down Atascocita 45-28. Winning may never get old, but Summer Creek sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Lloyd Avant continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 303 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Avant has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. Blake Thomas also helped out as he racked up 132 rushing yards.
With Pasadena Memorial's defeat and Channelview's win, both teams now sport identical 5-5 records.
Pasadena Memorial was taken down by Summer Creek 38-3 in their previous meeting back in September of 2019. Can Pasadena Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
