The Nease Panthers will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Ponte Vedra Sharks on February 7th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Nease had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Senators as they made off with a 52-27 victory. Nease has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Shruthika Kondabrolu was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abilgail Robinson, who scored seven points along with six steals and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past First Coast 80-30 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Ponte Vedra has managed all season.
Nease has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.
Nease came up short against the Sharks when the teams last played back in January, falling 48-38. Can Nease avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
