The Quantico Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Wakefield School, falling 58-4. Quantico has not had much luck with the Fighting Owls recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Wakefield School got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ceci Turner out in front who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists. Turner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Joelle Domfeh, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals.
Quantico dropped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Wakefield School, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quantico will take on the Colonels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Virginia (Massanutten Military Academy is ranked 398th, while the Warriors are ranked 403rd). As for Wakefield School, they will be playing at home against the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
