The North Valley Christian Academy Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Glendale Prep Academy Griffins at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
North Valley Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Highland Prep West with a sharp 17-0 victory.
Duvuagn Pryce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for North Valley Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-13-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Levi Corrigan was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. North Valley Christian Academy is 4-1-1 when Corrigan posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-12 otherwise. Noah Jones was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
North Valley Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .677. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland Prep West only posted an OBP of .375.
Meanwhile, Glendale Prep Academy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Wolves as they made off with a 20-1 win. The Griffins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.
Jack Martin and Eran Maxson made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Martin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Maxson struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Martin scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Maxson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Maxson a new career-high.
In other batting news, Glendale Prep Academy got a massive performance out of Jayce Moore, who scored four runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Gavin Moore, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
North Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Glendale Prep Academy, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Valley Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Glendale Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .518. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
