Greater Miami recap October 8, 2013
Oak Hills moved up to 68 from 113 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Greater Miami. The Highlanders climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Lakota East 41-21.
Fairfield added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Middletown, 21-10. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Indians.
Lakota West's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Malik Grove threw for 65 yards and Mikel Horton had 32 yards receiving. On the ground Horton contributed 120 yards. Dante Jones helped Lakota West's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
Horton was the best running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 120 yards as the Firebirds defeated Mason. Grove also contributed to the rushing game with 85 yards on the ground.
A big matchup in Greater Miami this week will be when Colerain takes on Sycamore. The Cardinals are in second place, while the Aviators are in third place.
Sycamore took down Hamilton 42-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
