The Stone Ridge Christian Knights won against the Dos Palos Broncos on Friday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Stone Ridge Christian claimed a resounding 61-26 victory over Dos Palos at home. Given Stone Ridge Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Dos Palos is ranked 1096th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Brock Richards, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 23 rebounds. Richards is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Kassius Salazar was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Dos Palos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hernan Hernandez, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacquez Jones, who scored 8 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Stone Ridge Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Dos Palos, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Stone Ridge Christian will square off against Tyler at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for Dos Palos, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pacheco at 6:30 p.m.
