The Mesick Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 47-31 bruising from Cadillac Heritage Christian. Mesick has struggled against Cadillac Heritage Christian recently, as their matchup on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Mesick's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayla McCoy, who scored 11 points along with six assists and two steals. McCoy has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cassie Sexton, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Mesick has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Cadillac Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mesick will take on Brethren at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Brethren presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mesick in Michigan (Brethren is ranked 243rd, while Mesick is ranked 611th).
