Tyngsborough has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Uxbridge Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tyngsborough had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Gardner at home to the tune of 53-26. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-12.
It was another big night for Bryce Goulet, who rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes. Goulet hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Joe Nicosia was in the mix as well, providing Tyngsborough with two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Gardner to a paltry 181 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Tyngsborough's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Tim Guilmette and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, Uxbridge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oxford 48-13 at home. Uxbridge pushed the score to 41-13 by the end of the third, a deficit Oxford had little chance of recovering from.
Tyngsborough has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 7-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.6 points per game. As for Uxbridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Tyngsborough might still be hurting after the 39-14 defeat they got from Uxbridge in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can Tyngsborough avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
