The Solomon Gorillas lost to the Goessel Bluebirds back in February of 2023, but the Solomon Gorillas didn't allow the Goessel Bluebirds the same satisfaction on Friday. Solomon put the hurt on Goessel with a sharp 70-49 victory.
Leading Solomon to victory were Jayceon Nelson and Spencer Coup. Nelson scored 23 points, while Coup scored 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Duran, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
The victory got Solomon back to even at 3-3. As for Goessel, they bumped their record down to 3-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solomon will square off against Canton-Galva on Tuesday. As for Goessel, they will head out on the road to face off against Little River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Little River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 back in December of 2023.
