Windham scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Ledyard, 21-14. At the time, the Colonels was ranked 12th in the state, while the Whippets was 89th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Windham, who took down 12th ranked Ledyard, 21-14.
Bacon Academy's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nate Kozlowski threw for 93 yards and Ryan Duclos had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Aaron Stolzman chipped in eight yards. Ed McMahon helped Bacon Academy's passing attack out by catching four balls for 38 yards.
Bacon Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kozlowski has thrown for 268 yards and one touchdown this season, while Duclos has 10 catches for 158 yards. Stolzman leads the league in rushing with 49 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Waterford takes on the Bobcats. The Lancers are currently in fourth, while Bacon Academy is in fifth.
Jim Buonocore's team suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 21-14 loss to Brian Crudden's team. The Colonels had been ranked 12th, but fell to 32 following the defeat.
