Taravella strolled past McArthur with points to spare, taking the game 74-60. Given Taravella's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while McArthur is ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Taravella's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andres Demoya, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Demoya has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Maleek Lubin, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Taravella's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for McArthur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.
Taravella will face off against Belen Jesuit at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Belen Jesuit is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for McArthur, they will head out on the road to take on Piper at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Piper has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three games.
