They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over Calvary Chapel. The result was nothing new for California Lutheran, who have now won four games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Ren Ukai continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Ukai is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Lukas Shobe was another key contributor, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Another reason for the win was California Lutheran's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Jonas Vogel and his two sacks.
California Lutheran's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.5 points per game. As for Calvary Chapel, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
California Lutheran will be playing at home against California School for the Deaf-Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. California School for the Deaf-Riverside will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Calvary Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
