There's no place like home for the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against California by a score of 54-47 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jefferson-Morgan also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Jefferson-Morgan found their leader in underclassman Dayten Marion, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Marion is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jase Bedilion was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 17 rebounds and five assists.
Noah Neil and Vincent Manzella certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Neil dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Manzella scored 19 points along with eight assists. The match was Manzella's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Knox, who scored no points along with ten rebounds.
Jefferson-Morgan has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for California, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson-Morgan will take on West Greene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Greene focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Friday. As for California, they will be playing at home against Geibel Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
