The Bluestem Lions pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Erie 68-63. Bluestem has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Erie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Dillinger out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Dillinger has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Reid Duff, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists.
Bluestem dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Erie, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bluestem will take on the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully West Elk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Erie, they will play host again and welcome the Jayhawks, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
