The Draper APA Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the American Leadership Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Draper APA's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
While Draper APA didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Wayne back in December of 2024 as Draper APA made off with a 73-52 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Draper APA got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Urban Baldwin out in front who went 7 of 17 on his way to 16 points along with eight assists and seven steals. That's the most steals Baldwin has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Jacobsen, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and three steals.
Baldwin wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Draper APA was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 59-46 to Logan. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly 13 points.
Draper APA will need focus on slowing down Tad Swarnes, one of several American Leadership Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Malakai Mack was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and three steals.
Draper APA pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Draper APA and American Leadership Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Draper APA hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66.7 points per game. However, it's not like American Leadership Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69.1 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Draper APA came up short against American Leadership Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 73-68. Can Draper APA avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
