Blackfoot is 2-8 against Idaho Falls since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Blackfoot is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest loss since April 1st on Monday. They fell just short of Rigby by a score of 16-14.
Brianna Reynolds put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Sela Christiansen and Shea Staley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Christiansen went 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Staley went 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Anna Hepworth was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Idaho Falls). They came out on top against Shelley by a score of 13-9 on Thursday.
The team relied heavily on Olivia Cordon, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tabria Orgill, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Idaho Falls kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.
Blackfoot's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Idaho Falls, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Blackfoot hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Idaho Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
