The Rising Sun Tigers's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged Harford Tech out 54-51. That's another feather in the cap for Rising Sun, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Harford Tech lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abi Marcello, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marcello has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Castro, who scored 13 points.
Rising Sun has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Harford Tech, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Rising Sun will take on Elkton at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Rising Sun is not getting complacent considering they own a much higher rank in Maryland (they are ranked 62nd, while Elkton is ranked 254th). As for Harford Tech, they will head out on the road to square off against Bel Air at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
