After two games on the road, Richmond-Burton is heading back home. They will take on the Plano Reapers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Richmond-Burton lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Friday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 54-20 defeat at the hands of Marengo. While losing is never fun, Richmond-Burton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 637th, while the Indians are ranked 236th).
Plano was handed a two-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Hornets on Friday. Everything went Plano's way against the Hornets as the Reapers made off with a 53-31 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Plano had established a 21 point advantage.
It was another big night for Josie Larson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Plano's points. Aleksa Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Richmond-Burton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 18 of their last 19 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-24 record this season. As for Plano, their victory bumped their record up to 14-16.
Richmond-Burton came up short against the Reapers in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 46-33. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Larson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds.
