El Capitan has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Merced Bears at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, El Capitan was able to grind out a solid win over Central Valley, taking the game 55-42. Given El Capitan's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while Central Valley is ranked 1054th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Capitan to victory, but perhaps none more so than AJ Tadeo, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tadeo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylen Centeno, who scored 15 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Merced beat Golden Valley 48-43 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Merced.
El Capitan has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Merced, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11.
El Capitan ended up a good deal behind Merced when the teams last played on January 5th, losing 59-41. Will El Capitan have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
