Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) put up 14 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 35-12 victory over
Bayside (Virginia Beach, Va.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Tigers led 7-6 at the half.
Oscar Smith expanded its lead to 15 points entering the fourth quarter. OS scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
The loss snapped the Marlins' 6-game winning streak.
Led by
Andrew Brown, the Chesapeake school came into the game allowing 11.5 points per game. Bayside's 12 points were well below its season average of 32.7 per game. Led by
Quin Blanding, BHS came in surrendering 16.4 points per game this season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Bayside, which notched a 34-27 victory over Cox in its previous outing.
