4A District 4 recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Muldrow, who defeated 150th ranked Broken Bow, 34-33. Dominic Blue threw for 193 yards and ran for 177 yards during the win.
Stilwell moved up to 169 from 199 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A District 4. The Indians were able to move up by falling to Cascia Hall 21-7.
Jace Pitchford threw for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 12-17 with 0 interception.
Blue provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bulldogs topped the Savages. Blue's key target this week was D'andre Owens, who caught 6 passes for 63 yards.
Blue was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 23 carries, he ran for 177 yards as Muldrow beat Sallisaw. Max Wallace also contributed to the rushing game with 39 yards on the ground.
Poteau's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Pirates feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pitchford has thrown for 660 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Jarrett Lowrimore has 26 catches for 280 yards. Pitchford also leads the league in rushing with 388 yards.
The Black Diamonds are in fifth place, while the Commandos are in second place.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A District 4 this week, the Pirates beat Sallisaw 34-9. The win marks fourth in a row for the Poteau.
