Baseball Recap: Chief Sealth Beats Cedarcrest for Their Third Straight Win

Chief Sealth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Cedarcrest Red Wolves as they made off with a 13-6 victory. Considering the Seahawks have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jaxton Daily got the start for Chief Sealth and what a start it was: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Nevin Pivar picked up the save, pitching 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Chief Sealth got a massive performance out of Nolan VanBuskirk, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. VanBuskirk is becoming a predictor of the Seahawks' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Reinhardt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Chief Sealth's record is now 14-9. As for Cedarcrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Chief Sealth nor Cedarcrest have any future games scheduled.
