Softball Recap: West Jessamine Has No Trouble Against Henry Clay

West Jessamine had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Henry Clay on Wednesday. West Jessamine put the hurt on Henry Clay with a sharp 15-5 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Paige Hobgood was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Abigail Myszak was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

West Jessamine always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henry Clay only posted an OBP of .333.

West Jessamine's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Henry Clay, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Jessamine will host Pulaski County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Henry Clay, they will welcome Tates Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tates Creek has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.83 runs per game on average), something Henry Clay will no doubt try to take advantage of.
