Franklin hit Kenosha Bradford with a nine-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils came up short against the Sabers, falling 15-5.
Kenosha Bradford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Allen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Another was Logan Swank, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian had just enough and edged out St. John's Northwestern Military Academy 4-2 on Saturday.
M. Geibl was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Geibl was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, J. Draeger was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Heritage Christian pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for Kenosha Bradford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Kenosha Bradford took their win against Heritage Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
