The Northview Knights came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Cascade 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Northview has posted since November 14, 2023.
Brynlee Clarke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Carlee Schrader was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Cascade's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Austin, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Hall, who scored 11 points.
Northview's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Cascade, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.
Northview will be playing at home against South Putnam at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Putnam will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Northview is ranked 104th). As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to take on Cloverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cloverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
