Robertsdale is 10-0 against Elberta since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Robertsdale Golden Bears will be playing at home against the Elberta Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Robertsdale, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-27 loss to Fairhope. Robertsdale has struggled against Fairhope recently, as their game on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Robertsdale's loss came about despite a quality game from Mallorie Rothe, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Rothe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hannah Johansen, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Elberta, who are still winless after their fourth match. They had to suffer through a rough 51-10 loss at the hands of Blacksher.
Catie Brown was Elberta's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Brown also led the team in rebounds with ten.
Their wins bumped Robertsdale to 3-7 and Fairhope to 4-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Robertsdale have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 20.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Elberta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 18.3 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
