Softball Recap: Quincy Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Quincy barely beat Chester the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans never let the Volcanoes get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The Trojans not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd.

Jemma Trueblood made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Hana Hostetter was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Adrian Goulet was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Quincy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chester only managed five hits.

The win made it two in a row for Quincy and bumps their season record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Chester, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will venture away from home to face off against Biggs at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chester, they will head out to challenge Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Volcanoes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
