The Ferris Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Godley Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ferris is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Ferris beat Hillsboro 14-11. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Landri Davis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off ten hits. Davis was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Aubrie Henson and Valorie Carrillo did most of the damage at the plate: Henson scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Carrillo scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance gave Carrillo a new career-high in hits. Madeline Welling also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Ferris kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Tuesday. Godley never let Kennedale get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Considering Godley has won 13 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Karlee Clark made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4.
In other batting news, Sierra Beratto was incredible, firing off two home runs, four runs, and five RBI while going 4-for-4. Bree Hubbard was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Godley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.7 runs. As for Ferris, they now have a winning record of 9-8-2.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ferris hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. However, it's not like Godley struggles in that department as they've averaged .416. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
