After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Hamilton, Pinnacle was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Valley Vista Monsoon  a   61-0 shutout. Considering the Pioneers have won six games by more than 29  points this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Jackson Reader was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 76 yards and two  TDs, and also threw for 52 yards and one  touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 74 yards. Another player making a difference was  Matt Blaylock, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of  scores.
 Pinnacle didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Valley Vista to a completion percentage of just 48.5%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from four players:  Ian Fullmer,  Brayden Fricke,  Cole Nickell,  and  Alex Lugo, who each logged one passes deflected. Pinnacle has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
 Pinnacle's defense didn't let  Damir Ilicic, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Fullmer,  Cameron Candeleria,  and  Luke Gasior, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
Pinnacle's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Valley Vista,  they are  on  a  five-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinnacle will welcome Chandler  at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 31st. The Pioneers will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31  points  in their last three contests. As for Valley Vista, they will look to defend their home field  on  the 31st against Westwood  at 7:00  p.m. The Monsoon will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.57  points per  matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
