The Winnebago Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. Winnebago was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayton Hall out in front who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Gibson Roberts, who scored 12 points.
Winnebago's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
Winnebago will be playing at home against Tri County Northeast on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Tri County Northeast is ranked 195th, while Winnebago is ranked 198th). As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
