Basketball Recap: Bridgehampton Skates Past Eldred with Ease

Bridgehampton extended their postseason success on Saturday against Eldred. They breezed past the Eldred Yellowjackets to the tune of 71-41. The Killer Bees have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Bridgehampton to victory were Alex Davis and Jai Feaster. Davis shot 41% from the field en route to 16 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals, while Feaster went 11-for-25 to rack up 25 points and four steals. Davis' big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Johnson, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and eight steals.

Bridgehampton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Eldred lost, don't look at Koen McGill. Despite the final result, he shot 75% from the field on his way to 13 points and eight boards. McGill is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last three games he's played. James Deyermond was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Bridgehampton's win bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Eldred, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 14-4 record.

Looking ahead, Bridgehampton will take on Loudonville Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Loudonville Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bridgehampton surely won't give up without a fight. Eldred does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
