Mooresville has gone 9-1 against South Iredell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will be playing at home against the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Mooresville is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Mooresville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past West Cabarrus 9-0. Considering the Blue Devils have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Iredell, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past A.L. Brown 5-4. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Wonders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Caroline Constable and Addison Trego made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Constable tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Meanwhile, Trego tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Constable went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base, while Trego went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Constable has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.
In other batting news, Addi Myers was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Benfield, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
South Iredell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
South Iredell now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mooresville, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
