The Wapato Wolves's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Kiona-Benton with points to spare, taking the game 21-6. For Wapato, this counts as revenge for the 40-0 loss Kiona-Benton walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2021.
Wapato was led to victory by Adolfo "AJ" Garza and Raul Sanchez III. Garza threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes, while Sanchez III gained 199 total yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Federico "Ico" Apodaca, who rushed for 107 yards on only 15 carries.
Wapato's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Kiona-Benton, they have yet to win a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 1-9 record.
Wapato does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kiona-Benton also has no future games currently scheduled.
