After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Innovation, Freedom was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Jones Fightin' Tigers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. With that victory, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Allison Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Freedom got a massive performance out of Aleah Collazo, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Collazo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Evanna Hance was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Freedom's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Jones, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Freedom will venture away from home to face off against Lake Highland Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.33 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jones, they will square off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
